The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth, for the sake of the truth dwelling in us, and which shall be with us forever. Grace will be with you, mercy and peace from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. I rejoiced greatly that I found your children walking in truth, as we have received command from the Father. And now I beseech you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, as you heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it. For many deceivers have entered into the world, who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the anti-christ. Look to yourselves, so that we may not lose those things which we worked out, but that we may receive a full reward. Everyone transgressing and not abiding in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house, nor speak a greeting to him. For he who speaks a greeting to him is partaker of his evil deeds. Having many things to write to you, I do not want to say with paper and ink. But I trust to come to you and speak face to face, so that our joy may be full. The children of your elect sister greet you. Amen. (2 John 1:1-13 MKJV)

What does ‘love one another’ mean in Scripture? Is our pursuit of unity at all costs to override our obedience to God’s commands, particularly when it comes to exposing the wolves in the flock? The Lord’s warnings to the church through us are mostly ignored. This has been the norm for God's messengers down through the ages. But when we are addressed it is generally under the accusation of being heresy hunters, fighting fundies, legalist's, Pharasees and a whole lot of other things our detractors will never tell you they said. But we will. Whatever it takes to divert attention from their exposed error. You'd be amazed at their anger folks, these 'Pastors of an end time harvest that simply doesn't exist'. Please excuse the foul language used by the 'pastors' who did respond, not to us mind you, but to the brother who simply forwarded our last Watchman Report Rock N Roll - That Other Faith onto them. Check this out from 'pastor' Jagjiwan Ram...

Mr Pig

You’re a pig

I told you before, I got nothing to do with you pig or anyone like you

Don’t send any more e-mail  you mutton head and a rat

You can write whatever you want on your  web………………

You are a goat head with horn

Not exactly a three point Scriptural exegesis of dispute resolution. Mr. Pig? Well, at least he gave me a salutation. Mutton head and rat sounds a tad nasty. But it was the 'goat head with horn' that caused me to laugh so hard my wife came to see if I was alright. And then there was this four part unsolicited barrage from 'pastor' Mick Wrotniak of Real Life AOG Church, Kingswood N.S.W. These who would have us believe they are men of God...

  • Sat  18/12/2010   1:59  PM - You are a dickhead
  • Sat 18/12/2010  2:05 PM - PS... You don't even know me, you self - righteous , full of pride , Pharisee How dare you compare yourself to Elijah, let alone to CHrist!!!??? You repent of your pride, you religious snake. On a more friendly note: get stuffed!!!
  • Sat  18/12/2010  2:08 PM - Did I mention you are wanker?
  • Sat 18/12/2010 2:11 PM - You're probably a faggott too. Your self righteous, aggro, judgemental high horse attitude is a characteristic of most faggs. Keep your hand off it, looser.

Please Note:

Pastor Mick has since emailed brother Bevan and apologised for his remarks. We invited Pastor Mick to submit 'his side of the story' if you will, but to date he has neglected to do so. Our offer remains open.

Notice neither of these men addressed the issues we raised, they just let the overflow of their heart speak. Oooo, and with such venom. If these men truly knew the Word there would be no issue. These people clearly do not appreciate their golden calf being touched. What kind of seminary are these people being trained in? Well, that's just the point isn't it? As if it weren't obvious enough - they're not! And they think we have problems... go figure.

You shall know them by their fruits - Matthew 7:15-18

Second John is an enlightening portion of Scripture. It deals with a modern day dilemma as well as one common throughout the history of the Christian church. And that issue is, shouldn't we be more loving when dealing with those we claim to be false teachers. The truth is that large swaths of the professing church are not only ONLY positive all the time, they actually avoid any kind of controversy or challenge like the plague. It this behaviour Scriptural? Let's look at this chapter...

It is a letter from the elder in the church to a woman with children. She had obviously posed a question which the elder addresses in verse 5, after the greeting of the first four verses. He assures the woman he has not giving her a new commandment, but one which they had from the beginning. Which presupposes she had questioned such. And this is concerning the subject of love. So we know the woman was speaking of such, desiring a clearer understanding. The elder then reveals to the woman exactly what this 'love' is in verse six. And according to this elder, the love with which we are to embrace one another is demonstrated in our obedience to God's commandments. The elder makes no mention of the sensibilities of the hearer, to him, (and the elders were always male), the demonstration of love to one another is obedience to Christ. Yahshua Himself said "If you love me you will keep my commandments" John 14:15. Then the elder explains why we are to have this priority. Verse 7: Because many deceivers went out into the world. These were those who did not confess Yahshua 'God is salvation' had come in the flesh. Precisely as C. A. Dollar and his TBN playmates do. The woman is reminded in verse 8 to be watchful that she might not lose what she has learned, therefore putting her on guard. He says to her that anyone who transgresses the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He says, 'If anyone comes to you not bearing this doctrine which you have had from the beginning (verse 5), that she is not permitted to invite that individual to come into her home or even to speak a greeting to them. For if she does, according to God, it is a sign of solidarity with their evil (verse 11). He concludes by desiring to have been there in person to speak to her face-to-face, and blesses her in the name of our Saviour.

So the point of 2 John is clear, faithful obedience to the doctrine of Christ supersedes the sensibilities of those who hear it.  That is not to say that we as believers are to be crass and rude as our 'pastor' respondents have demonstrated, it simply means that we have our priorities in the right order. Which is that we have a greater fear of God than we do of man. You can almost hear the same cry as those of today in that woman's question... "Should we be so judgmental, can't we just love one another"? 2 John reminds us all that obedience to Christ is indeed demonstrating love for one another, and in fact takes supreme priority over the feelings of man.

This is something a large portion of the modern day church has clearly forgotten - to its own demise. Pandering to the mythical seeker has opened the sheep gate to the goats and a large portion of the professing church is every bit as lost as those on the outside they are seeking to draw in. The methods they use reveal the one they serve. Please take the time to view this excellent video from Paul Washer and pass it on to your friends, particularly your pastors.

In His Everlasting Embrace,
