Psalm 27

Psalm 27 reads The Lord is my light, and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is my strong fortress, of whom shall I be afraid? The Lord is our light in this dark, evil world and He guides our way one illuminated step at a time all the way home. He is our strong fortress, in whom we hide when the evil comes, who can get past Him to harm us? If you scroll on down to verse 5 you'll read . . . "For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his tent: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me."

Why a tent do you think? Why not a big Church or a Cathedral? Why a tent?

Because tents are portable they can be moved easily to where the action is and they're intimate. I bet you it's a two-man tent, just enough room for you and God. Tents are portable, God will meet you where you are in other words. He'll march right out onto that battle field, pitch His tent and invite you in for some R&R - just you and Him. He comes to you! That's our benevolent Father!

Are you in the thick of it at the moment? Are the guns of war raging all around you? Well, I want to tell you I'm there right now myself. This is without doubt the darkest, most foreboding time in my life.

Satan has surrounded me and my family and I are getting hit from every side BUT . . . in the heat of battle I remember - The Lord is my light, and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is my strong fortress, of whom shall I be afraid?

If you're copping a hiding too right now, God wants you not to look at the size of the waves but at the One who walks on them and invites you to do the same. You have to (by Faith) see the situation from God's perspective, where He sits it's a glorious victory if your faith is in Him.

"For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his tent: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me."

Have you noticed when the bottom falls out of your world and you know you know there's no-one who understands and you know it's just you and God, that's when He's pitched the tent and invited you in to shelter you from danger.

The Lord is my light, and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is my strong fortress, of whom shall I be afraid?

Trust Him.
