Get a Clue

"Cursed be the man before the Lord, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho." Joshua 6:26

"Since he was cursed who rebuilt Jericho, much more the man who labours to restore Popery among us. In our fathers' days the gigantic walls of Popery fell by the power of their faith, the perseverance of their efforts, and the blast of their gospel trumpets; and now there are some who would rebuild that accursed system upon its old foundations. O Lord, be please to thwart their unrighteous endeavours, and pull down every stone which they build. It should be a serious business with us to be thoroughly purged of every error which may have a tendency to foster the spirit of Popery, and when we have made a clean sweep at home we should seek in every way to oppose its all too rapid spread abroad in the church and in the world. This last can be done in secret by fervent prayer, and in public by decided testimony. We must warn with judicious boldness those who are inclined towards the errors of Rome; we must instruct the young in gospel truth, and tell them of the black doings of Popery in the olden times. We must aid in spreading the light more thoroughly through the land, for priests, like owls, hate daylight. Are we doing all we can for Jesus and the gospel? If not, our negligence plays into the hands of priestcraft. What are we doing to spread the Bible, which is the Pope's bane and poison? Are we casting abroad good, sound gospel writings? Luther once said, 'The devil hates goose quills,' and doubtless, he has good reason, for ready writers, by the Holy Spirit's blessing, have done his kingdom much damage. If the thousands who will read this short word this night will do all they can to hinder the rebuilding of his accursed Jericho, the Lord's glory shall speed among the sons of men. Reader, what can you do? What will you do?" - From "Evening By Evening" - Charles Spurgeon, Uhrichsville, Barbour and Company, 1991.

"History proves the Catholic Church to be one of the most militant institutions ever created. It does not believe in a democratic philosophy. It has routinely and often “converted” people by the sword. And yet, this world seems unwilling to hold it accountable for its war crimes." - Wars of Catholicism - Gerald Flurry

“The following morning the Crusaders re-entered the al-Aqsa Mosque and slaughtered every one sheltering there. No one knows how many died... One of the Crusaders reports picking his way through a mess of blood and bodies more than knee-deep. This is only one episode of many.  And all of this savagery supposedly made Catholics righteous! A warrior who burned babies in the Crusade was considered worthy of glory for all eternity! Does this really make sense to a sound mind?"- Crusades - Terry Jones and Alan Ereira

“The victory was celebrated with unparalleled savagery. Two and a half centuries of holy warfare had taught the Crusaders nothing of humanity. The victors were maddened at the sight of so much booty. They spared no one. Even the European merchants saw their factories and storehouses ruthlessly looted.  Houses were entered, and householders who did not immediately hand over all their possessions were slaughtered with their families. Some 5,000 prisoners were taken to be sold as slaves. A long line of horses, asses and camels carried the loot to the ships in the harbor and there having performed their task were killed. The whole city stank with the odour of human and animal corpses.”  "The Crusades were the Pope's work" - History of the Crusades - Steven Runciman

"And so was inflicted on the south of France one of the most ferocious massacres in history. Bands of northern brigands pillaged and plundered. In the Cathedral of Saint-Nazaire, twelve thousand 'heretics' were killed ... Those who tried to flee were cut down and butchered. Thousands more were burned at the stake. At Toulouse, Bishop Foulque put to death ten thousand people accused of heresy. At Beziers the entire population of more than twenty thousand was slaughtered. At Citeau, when asked how to distinguish Catholics from Catherists, the abbe replied with his famed cynicism: 'Kill them all; God will know his own'." [Thompkins, P. 58]

In the Inquisition, pain inflicted on sexual organs was very prevalent, another clear sign of the sexual obsession brought on by the perversions of celibacy. This type of sexual perversion has occurred in every Mysteries Religion in all of history: the Babylonian Satanic Mysteries, Egyptian Mysteries, the Greek Mysteries, and the Mysteries of Imperial Rome. Celibate Catholic priests were just the latest to feel the scourge of sexual perversion brought on by celibacy. - Cutting Edge Ministries

"So many plots have already been made against my life, that it is a real miracle that they have all failed . . . But can we expect that God will make a perpetual miracle to save my life? I believe not. The Jesuits are so expert in those deeds of blood that Henry IV (king of France who was assassinated by the Jesuit Revaillac for giving liberty to his people), said that it was impossible to escape them, and he became their victim, thought he did all he could to protect himself. My escape from their hands, since the letter of the Pope to Jeff Davis has sharpened a million of daggers to pierce my breast, would be more than a miracle. . . . I know that Jesuits never forget nor forsake (never give up). Man must not care how and where he dies, provided he dies at the post of honor and duty."  - Abraham Lincoln

In 1960, the last time a Roman Catholic ran for president on the Democratic ticket in the U.S.A, evangelical Protestant leaders warned their flocks that electing John F. Kennedy would be like handing the Oval Office to the Antichrist. So deep was the antipathy toward Catholics that the president of the National Association of Evangelicals sent a distressed letter to pastors saying: "Public opinion is changing in favour of the church of Rome. We dare not sit idly by - voiceless and voteless." The Rev. Billy Graham's magazine Christianity Today said in an editorial that the Vatican "does all in its power to control the governments of nations."

And like a leopard true to its spots, the Vatican machine rolls on undaunted. Rome is wooing the strays back into the fold and it's pulling out all the stops to do it. Gullible evangelical leaders once opposed to it's evils are now onside, and the inevitable influx of their followers will be immense. Enter World Youth Day, 2008. What an unbelievable circus. Thousands of ‘pilgrim’ youth from all around the world lobbed on Australian shores last week smoking and drinking up a storm, as the object of their veneration, ex Nazi Pope Benny, hooted around Sydney streets in his bullet proof gofer. Predictably the secular media were falling over themselves capturing images of the leader of arguably the largest cult on the planet, and raising again the diatribe over the possibility of Australia getting its first 'saint'. The Roman Catholic institution has no clue as to what a true saint is, and their selection process for such is nothing more than superstitious insanity. But what we found most disappointing was Australian Idol Guy Sebastian, along with fellow professing Christian and unashamed ‘diva’ Paulini Curuenavuli getting in on the act, serenading Benny, the Catholic lauded 'holy father' (though he is neither holy nor a father) at a Roman Catholic Mass. What goes through their heads? Have Sebastian and Curuenavuli never been taught about the evils of the roman church and who the popes proclaim themselves to be? Have they no character? No spine to turn from a long established evil? What a couple of opportunistic fakes! Shame on them both. But then after all, the world will love its own, and for these two disgraces, every road will lead back to Rome.

Sebastian Sings Pope's Praises

Along with many other charismatics embracing the emerging church ideology, Sebastian appears to have a real cockeyed view of Christian values, no doubt spawned from his Paradi$e ommunity hurch upbringing where apparently anything goes in the name of the God of love. Doubt me? Read these notable quotables from the idol himself…

When asked if homosexuality clashed with his Christian beliefs Sebastian answered…

That’s the sad side of Christianity. That’s not how it’s meant to be. I’ve been to gay clubs heaps of times. That’s the old fundamentalist way of thinking that’s unfortunately spread through all these generations. They miss the whole point of Christianity which is love. God loves people whether they are black, white, gay, straight, bisexual, whatever. As a Christian, we’re [sic] never going to get close to being sinless or perfect, and I’m no better than anyone else on this earth, but our No. 1 goal is to be as loving as we can.”

When asked if he was against gay marriage, Sebastian responded, “I’m not really anti anything. If you’re a gay couple, why not? I don’t really have a stance because I don’t know what it’s like to be told you’re not allowed to marry somebody. That doesn’t seem fair to me.” 1

That’s the sad side of Christianity? Old fundamentalist thinking? The whole point of Christianity is love? Doesn’t seem fair? If you're a gay couple why not? Had Sebastian spent as much time in the Word of God as he does in jam rooms he’d soon realise it was the very same God he claims to know who drew the line of contempt for homosexual behaviour. Believers are called to hate the sin but love the sinner. Sebastian doesn't appear to be able to draw any distinction between the two.

“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination”. Leviticus 18:22.

Abomination: (tô‛êbah  tô‛êbah) Lit. morally disgusting. The term Abomination is the strongest word used for condemnation in the Bible and yet Sebastian has no problem with the abominable practice of homosexual behaviour, how does that work? What on earth are they teaching (or not teaching) at the Paradi$e ommunity hurch where Sebastian once fellowshipped.

According to the Word of God not only do partakers in homosexual behaviour defile themselves, they also defile the earth they walk on (Vs 25). In case it escaped the attention of those who would rather be popular than pure, Leviticus 18:22 is GOD speaking. The God who is the same yesterday, today and forever more (Hebrews 13:8). But as Sebastian and his deluded supporters would proclaim: We’re not under the law now; we’re under grace, so apparently anything goes.

The following National Nine News article was posted on Sebastian’s own official forum 2

"The Catholic Church is encouraging pilgrims to give in to temptations of a retail kind with its official line of World Youth Day merchandise.  At the official World Youth Day store in Hyde Park, Pope Benedict XVI's face is emblazoned on everything from teaspoons to key rings. A huge tent has been erected across the road from St Mary's Cathedral and is packed with over 460 different items.

Those searching for divine threads can find brands "Receive the Power" and "Faith" — while the street-smart Catholic might appreciate the teen-targeted "Pilgrim Pride" range. Proving to be a true trendsetting Pope, Benedict's range includes a sporty collection of "Benedetto" rugby jersey and baseball caps.

And despite flaunting the fourth commandment a — "thou shall not make for yourself an idol" — celebrity singer Guy Sebastian features heavily in the merchandise marquee. The inaugural Australian Idol winner teams up with fellow reality TV alumni Paulini on the "Songs of Faith and Love" CD and DVD collection.

Deep-pocketed pilgrims can pick up a signed and framed copy — costing $250. The Aria-winning singer even has his very own line of WYD-exclusive clothing. "It is great to be involved in an event where so many young people come together with the same thing in mind — to unite and spread the message of love," Sebastian said. With 10 cash registers at the ready and over a dozen staff buzzing around the store, WYD organisers also plan to open 17 mobile merchandise kiosks at locations including the Opera House and the Domain”.3

Ok, now I’m confused. They acknowledge the sin on their own site and then praise Sebastian for it. Go figure!

But you know, this isn’t about hypocrites such as Guy Sebastian, Paulini Curuenavuli or the endless gaggle of like minded wannabees; this is about apostate Christianity coming back under the banner of mother Rome… back to Babylon every sorry, last one of them.

The Popes (who claim to be Christ on earth and incapable of error) have a sordid history of abominable behaviors including homosexuality, bestiality, rape, pedophilia, murder, extortion, witchcraft, fornication et al. Then there is the suggestion that there was once a female pope by the name of Joan. If she ever did exist she must have been a very homely individual because her gender was only discovered when she was apparently found to be pregnant. Pope Formose Corpse on Trail

One pope had the rotting corpse of his predecessor exhumed, sat in a chair and tried as a heretic. After the trial the convicted pope’s corpse was dragged behind a horse through the city streets, and thrown in the Tibre.4 Other reports insist the corpse was drawn and quartered then buried in 'unholy' ground. The charges were later rescinded by a succeeding pope and the corpse was reburied in papal vestments in 'holy ground'. So much for being incapable of error!

There have even been multiple popes sharing the same 'throne', time and space. How anyone would continue to give this institution credibility let alone respect is beyond me.

The history of the papacy is a shameful evil cloaked in piety. If Sebastian and his ilk are unaware of that fact, then they need to be quickly educated on the matter. If they are aware and have chosen to turn a blind eye, then they need to be sternly rebuked.

The Word of God and the word of the Roman Church are at direct odds with each other on many foundational issues including, most critically, how one receives forgiveness and salvation from God. It is impossible for one to be obedient to both the Roman Church and the Bible, just as it is impossible to follow both the pope and Y'shua.

In light of the Roman Catholic claims about their first pope, it seems more than a little strange that only James and Jude wrote less of the New Testament than Peter did. There is a plethora of other biblical evidence which make it obvious that the Roman Church is dead wrong when it comes to its claims about the papacy

Surely, the chequered and at times sordid history of the papacy is also proof that the pope is not the infallible, holy vicar of Christ. Some popes have been fornicators, homosexuals, and murderers as even Roman Catholic historians admit. Many have been grasping political opportunists. Popes have anathematized their predecessors, wielded power over civil rulers in an ungodly fashion, and presided over horrific, brutal events for which the modern Roman Church has ended up offering tepid apologies under great pressure. How could such men be the “vicar of Christ”? The Roman Catholic Church is in great conflict with God’s Word over the papacy.

What Y'shua has commanded His followers to do as a “remembrance” of His death and their inheritance of eternal life through belief in Him (Lk. 22:19-20), the Roman Church has turned into a blasphemous, pagan ritual which misleads millions and keeps them in bondage, separated from Christ and salvation. No true Christian can have any part of it (I Cor. 10:20-22).

Those who teach that man must do certain works in order to achieve salvation are presumptuously teaching that man can do the impossible and satisfy God’s perfect standard of justice and holiness by human efforts. They are also blasphemously teaching that once those works have been done, God must grant salvation or owe the worker a debt (Rom. 4:4-5). The Roman Catholic Church cannot be the true Church since it teaches this false gospel (Gal. 1:8-9)

The man the Roman Catholic Church claims was the first pope was married (I Cor. 9:5) Here again, the Roman Church is teaching a false doctrine and wresting the Scriptures (II Pet. 3:15-18). Will you believe God’s Word or trust your eternity to a church which legislates and upholds doctrines of demons?

The Roman Catholic Church embraces a spirit whose power is the complete antithesis of the One who indwells true believers. Sebastian's admonition then to "Receive the Power" is curious at the very least, seeing that faithful Roman Catholics obedient to the Pope and the Institution's dogmas and pagan rituals, do not know the Spirit of the Living God. So whose power are they to receive? Sebastian obviously supports ecumenism with Rome in the name of love. God's Word endorses no such heresy.

How it all began

The pope may be the most visible and famous symbol of the Catholic Church. It is the office of the papacy and the assumed link back to the original apostles that differentiates Roman Catholicism and the true Christian Church. The office of the papacy is rather complicated and, much to the chagrin of believers, comes with quite a sordid past.

The title 'pope' stems from the Greek word 'papas', which simply means "father." Early in Christian history it was used as a formal title expressing affectionate respect for any bishop and sometimes even priests, despite Y'shua Himself expressly forbidding that any man be addressed as such (Matthew 23:9). Today the pope is the supreme legislative, executive, and judicial authority in the Roman Catholic Church — there are no "checks and balances" like one may be accustomed to finding in secular governments. He is effectively a law unto himself claiming that as Christ on earth, he cannot be judged by mortal man.

According to their dogma, the pope is regarded by Roman Catholics and other apostate Christians as the successor of St. Peter and leader of the apostles. Catholics believe that the bishop of Rome inherits the mantle of Peter, the apostle of Y'shua who was entrusted with the administration of his church after he died. Peter is said to have travelled to Rome where he apparently established a Christian community before he was martyred. This teaching is believed even though there is no historical substantiation for the claim.

All popes claim to be successors of Peter not only as leading the Catholic community in Rome, but also assuming the headship of the Christian community in general, and believe they maintain a direct connection to the original apostles. They claim to be incapable of error and wield the power of fear over catholic laity as a Caesar would his sword.

Papacy of the First Millennium

Many people imagine that the current structure and administration of the Catholic Church today is much like it has always been, but that’s not the case. There is no evidence of a single bishop of Rome presiding over churches in the first centuries of the Christian Church. Although the official Catholic lists give the names of several “popes” during the early decades of Christianity, it is more likely that they simply presided over a council of elders. The first pope, who was actually a single bishop presiding over the diocese of Rome, was Pius I (142 - 155).

At first the bishop of Rome was chosen like all other bishops: through a general election of the people. Over time both bishops and nobility in the area around Rome took on more and more of a role in electing Rome’s bishop. Eventually the will of the people was consulted on only a perfunctory basis — and sometimes not at all. It eventually came to pass that popes had to be ratified by the emperor, not by the people of Rome they would be serving. This pointed to the fact that popes became more involved with European politics than with local pastoral duties.

During its first centuries, the already compromised 'Christian' Church became closely intertwined with the political rulers of the Roman empire, even to the point where pagan religions were banned. Eventually these grey lines separating ecclesiastical from temporal leadership would be largely eliminated once the traditional power structures broke apart and the Roman Empire “fell” in the wake of Alaric’s sacking of Rome in 410.

By 452, it was Pope Leo I, not a secular prefect. who went outside Rome to meet Attila the Hun and convinced him to withdraw his forces. Pontiffs were now virtual temporal rulers over the city of Rome and its surrounding regions. They raised and led armies, imposed taxes, and made decisions about who could live where.

Papal involvement in temporal politics would expand well beyond the borders of Rome. On December 25 in the year 800, Leo III crowned Charlemagne as Holy Roman Emperor. This solidified the imperial protection of the papacy and established the precedent that the supreme religious authority in Europe also had a say in the supreme political authority.

At the same time, this alliance to the political and religious rulers of the West became an important stepping stone toward the ultimate schism between the Eastern and Western churches. Matters came to a head in 1052 when secular Norman rulers insisted that Greek churches in Italy conform to standard Latin practices. The patriarch of the Greek church in turn demanded that Latin churches in Constantinople conform to Greek customs. When he was refused, he simply had them closed. Because the issue could not be resolved in 1054, that is the year usually given for the final break between the churches in the East and West.

Something like the papacy we know today began under Pope Gregory VII, elected in 1073. Under Gregory, papal power became the basis of everything, a principle that would have been foreign to Christians during most of the first millennium and which is still rejected by Christians in the East — and of course Protestants.

According to the late Cardinal Yves Congar, Gregory "ended up by making the Church itself into a legal institution." In its relations with temporal powers, the church "was led to adopt very much the same attitudes as the temporal power itself, to conceive of itself as a society, as a power, when in reality it is a communion, with ministers and servants."  By now the reader should be able to see the steady rise of dominionist thought.

It was Gregory, then, who "launched the second-millennial papacy as a legalistic, monarchical office — a concept foreign to the first-millennial Church and to the whole of the East, past and present alike" (quoted by Richard P. McBrien in Lives of the Popes: The Pontiffs from St. Peter to John Paul II).

The pope at this time became the monarch we now know. Many treat the period inaugurated by the reign of Gregory as the apex of the papacy. So impressed are they by the power and grandeur of the pope as monarch, that the idea of a collegial pope who stays in the background has largely disappeared. This goes a long way to explain the popularity of John Paul II, a pope who did much to restore centralized power in the papacy.

Some of the most influential, powerful, and important popes in history ruled in the period between Gregory VII and the Reformation. During the same time, though, some of the worst and most vile popes reigned. The more centralised power becomes and the less checks, balances, and oversight play a role, the greater the likelihood of corruption — even under those with the best of intentions. Centralised power also means that corruption can do far more damage because corruption at the top can more readily spread out to the rest of an organization. Whereas papal corruption during the first millennium tended to be limited to Rome and Italy, papal corruption in the second millennium radiated throughout Europe and beyond. This was a primary force behind the Reformation. There were other social, political, and economic influences at work as well, but the corruptions and problems that had afflicted the church for almost 500 years certainly took their toll. Whereas the schism between East and West ostensibly turned on theological disagreements (alongside political undercurrents), the schism within Europe ostensibly turned on corruption, crime, and alleged violations of the basic principles of Christianity.

From the Reformation until the mid-20th century, the Roman Catholic Church was essentially on the defensive. First it had to react to the Reformation. Then it had to react to the Enlightenment. Then it had to react to the modern development of liberal democracies and religious pluralism. Then it had to react to the growth of political ideologies like nationalism, communism, and fascism. In 1860, the papal army (yes, the pope still had a real army at this late date) was defeated at Castelfidardo and the Papal State was absorbed into the kingdom of Italy. In 1870, Italian forces finally occupied Rome itself. From that point on, popes retained temporal control over just the land in the Vatican. Relations between Italy and the Vatican were not solidified until Pope Pius XI formalized a concordat with Benito Mussolini in 1929.

Reactionary defensiveness against modernity began to take a back seat with the Second Vatican Council. Rather than simply fight against everything modern, Pope John XXIII decided to adapt the church to as much of modernity as seemed feasible. Mass would be said in the vernacular rather than Latin. The monarchical papacy would be softened with more collegiality on every level. Biblical interpretations could be informed by modern understandings of language, science, and history. This was to be the beginning of what we now know as 'Alpha' and 'Seeker Sensitivity'. Both are of Roman Catholic origin.

Today the papacy is as much on the offensive as it is on the defensive. Communism ventured underground and fascism is largely gone; nationalism isn’t nearly as much of an issue as it used to be. Secularism and indifference towards religion are, however, regarded as serious issues. John Paul II did much to reverse many of the modernist trends of the Second Vatican Council: restoring the monarchical papacy, eliminating collegiality, and asserting a greater political role for his church.

We have spoken at some length on the subject of Dominionism. It should therefore come as no surprise to readers of our reports that as an old Roman Catholic heresy, dominionism is leading the charge to bring all professing believers back into the Roman sheep pen. Confused, compromising and undiscerning, sit-on-the-fencers such as Guy Sebastian, Paulini Curuenavuli et al, believing that 'in love' we should all just get along and live happily ever after, are deluding themselves and leading countless thousands into the clutches of this unspeakably evil institution.

In a nutshell the basic Roman Catholic dominionist model now embraced by the charismatic church is as follows:

The Word of God on the other hand teaches:

  1. The world is plunged into a time of spiritual and political crisis.

  2. The church is apostatized.

  3. The apostatized church unites with the anti-Christ and seizes control of the world.

  4. A great tribulation breaks out against those Christians who refuse to become a part of the apostatized church, resulting in their persecution and finally their destruction - after which the anti-Christ, who had at first appeared as the champion of Israel, turns on Israel to destroy her.

  5. The rapture occurs for those Christians who "remain," and Christ returns to bring judgment on those who had destroyed Israel and persecuted those Christians who had refused to be apostatized.

Credited with the instigation of a series of civil wars in France, England and elsewhere, the Crusades (which saw the butchering of non catholic men women and children)5, The slaughter at Beziers France in 1209 6,The execution of 20,000 Huguenots in just 3 days - an event known in infamy as the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre7, the 30 Year War8, countless sadistic tortures inflicted on non Catholics in the name of God by the Church of Rome9, The Spanish, Roman and Dutch Inquisitions10, the Russian and American Revolutions, the assassination of Abraham Lincoln11, World Wars 1 and 2, supporting Hitler's Nazi hate machine, the secreting of war criminals out of Germany at the end of WW2, the extermination of millions of Jews and Muslims, and the Vietnam War12 among other sickening and heinous atrocities, the Roman Catholic institution has untold innocent blood on its ugly hands. It truly is, as the Word declares, drunk with the blood of saints (Rev 17:6).13

The Spanish Inquisition              The Spanish Inquisition              The Spanish Inquisition

Vatican 2 did nothing to quell, or in anywise alter the nature or intentions of this beast of Rome; it is still very much active with its unrepentant evil in this generation. It has never once repented of its atrocities of the past, in fact it says of itself, "We Never Change". Those who cannot see the Roman Catholic Church's involvement in Satan's end time religiopolitical alignment need to get back into the Word. And those who supported Guy Sebastian's serenading its leader at WYD 2008 need a swift kick in the pants!

On a positive note, we would like to commend all those faithful believers who attended the World Youth Day celebrations, not to venerate Guy Sebastian or Pope Benny, but to hand out Gospel tracts and to witness the truth to the thousands of lost people in attendance. For those who did so... Thank you.

Please take the time to read the End Notes below - they are sobering!

End Notes

 a.   Apparently the secular media had no problem recognising the clear violation of the commandment to fashion no idols, (even though it is the second commandment and not the fourth) yet when I pointed out this very fact to the Paradi$e ommunity hurch leadership they surreptitiously moved behind the scenes to have me taken off the air at 107.9 Life[less] FM in 2004. The CEO of that station Timothy Millar continues to support the Paradi$e ommunity hurch's behaviour solely to secure their ongoing financial support, which is why I left in absolute disgust. For full disclosure of what transpired read my Open Letter To The Church.

  5. In the same manor the early crusades started in 1095 in Germany where they cried ‘Deus Vult’ or God wills it, by dragging the ‘Jewish infidels’ from their homes to be either burned alive or hacked to death. This continued from the Rhine all the way to Jerusalem with every city, town, and village in between finding the same consequence for having the audacity to be in the path of the looting and pillaging marauders calling themselves crusaders. Once in Jerusalem these ‘Crusaders’ killed almost every person living within the city. As Cleric Raymor Aguilers wrote; “In the Temple of Solomon, one rode in blood up to his knees and even to the horses bridles, by the just and marvellous judgment of God.”

The Crusades of King Richard the Lion Hearted began in 1191, almost one hundred years later, saw in one instance in the city of Acre, King Richard ordered about 3,000 captives, including many women and children, to be sent outside of the city walls. After being taken out of the city, they were all killed, some being disembowelled to find ‘jewels that had been swallowed’, although no record of any were ever recorded.

In March, 1562, an army led by the Catholic  Duke of Guise attacked a Protestant church service at Vassy in the province of Champagne and slaughtered everybody they could get their hands on: men, women, and children—all of whom were unarmed.

  6. The city of Beziers in southern France in 1209 was taken by an army sent in at the order of Pope Innocent III. After taking the town that was not of Catholic belief for the most part, the entire city was slaughtered, many after being blinded, dragged behind horses, mutilated, and/or used for target practice. When the Pope was asked how to tell the Catholics from the non-Catholics, he simply commanded, ‘Kill them all. God will know his own.’

  7. On August 24, 1572, the day before St. Bartholomew's Day, royal forces hunted down and executed over three thousand Huguenots, including Coligny, in Paris. Within three days, royal and Guise armies had hunted down and executed over twenty thousand Huguenots in the single most bloody and systematic extermination of non-combatants in European history until World War II.

  8. Over the course of the war, the population of the German states was reduced by about 30%. In the territory of Brandenburg, the losses had amounted to half, while in some areas an estimated two-thirds of the population died. The male population of the German states was reduced by almost half. The population of the Czech lands declined by a third due to war, disease, famine and the expulsion of Protestant Czechs. The Swedish armies alone destroyed 2,000 castles, 18,000 villages and 1,500 towns in Germany, one-third of all German towns. See Also:'_War

  9. Sacred rituals can also be detected behind the killings perpetrated by Catholics. Persistence in disfiguring corpses (mentioned in half the sources) displayed a sacred language, representing God’s power on Earth through attacks on the heretics’ bodies, seen as the embodiment of sin. Thus in Orange, in 1562, female corpses were exposed naked “with ox horns, stones or small wooden stakes inserted in unmentionable places of their bodies.” The corpses were clothed in filth to indicate their otherness, their distinctiveness from Divine creation. They were dragged like “dead beasts,” symbols of the Beast of the Apocalypse. The accumulation of acts of cruelty like tearing the eyes out and severing the nose, lips and ears was supposed to prefigure the torments of hell. Finally, dismembering the bodies – and sometimes exposing and auctioning pieces of them – drowning and burning people at the stake, represented the mouth, the bottomless pit and the fire of hell (Crouzet, 1990:vol. I, 236-317). There are also reports of unborn babies being cut from their mother's wombs and fed to wild dogs as husbands were forced to watch, all in the name of the Church of Rome.

  10. Women were routinely threatened in Catholic confessionals with being reported as witches if they did not have sex with the attending priests. They were also subjected to the most cruel and bizarre humiliations at the hands of their Catholic Inquisitors. See: and Inquisition

  13.
